About the Event
A workshop where you learn how a can transfer existing and/or self-made drawing or graphic work onto clay. Participants are given the opportunity to conduct their own experiments with ceramic inks made by themselves. You learn to develop a personal handwriting: figurative or with your own stylized lines with which you can later decorate and illustrate your own ceramic shapes.
You will work with one graphic printing technique, namely flat printing. During this At the start of this course we focus on the simplest printing methods, ie monotype with pigments and engobes. Afterwards, lithography is also discussed. Designing and editing your designs on the computer, printing with the laser printer and preparing for printing... that's how you realize your own design after the experiments and samples. After the demonstrations you can get to work yourself. A syllabus is available to the participants.”
TEACHER Leen Severs is a graphic designer and teaches part-time art education at Halle and Genk.
She also taught drawing/graphic techniques in the ceramics studio of her colleague Mieke Everaet for many years.
During this workshop Leen will explain and demonstrate her knowledge and experience.

We work on our own ceramic molds that you bring. You can bring leather-hard and biscuit baked works, small molds or tiles. Bring your shapes, so bring a cushion or mousse to protect your work.
You also get the chance to make extra shapes and tiles in the studio.
at lunch coffee, tea and soup are provided, bring your own sandwiches.
